A recent article from Aspect Biosystems: Presentation of Research Collaboration by Frampton Lab - "Bioprinting of Three-Dimensional Multicellular Skin Constructs"
Our collaborators from the Frampton Lab at Dalhousie University are presenting research they performed in collaboration with Aspect at the upcoming Skin Research Group of Сanada 5th Annual Symposium. This year, the conference is being held jointly with the 93rd Canadian Dermatology Association Annual Meeting in Montreal, QC June 22-24, 2018.
This project, enabled by NSERC Engage funding, was a collaborative effort to use Aspect's unique Lab-on-a-Printer™ bioprinting technology to generate multi-cellular patterned 3D human skin tissue. Incorporation of a functional dermal component with an overlying epidermis may be essential for generating a transplantable skin tissue for more severe skin injuries such as full thickness burns. The work to further characterize these 3D skin tissues is ongoing.
